Protspec is a Web3 security lab that helps cryptonatives interact with blockchain ecosystems safely through technology, education, and research.

Protspec was created by D Ø W N L O R E, a founding member of BanklessDAO's InfoSec Team and a former offensive security specialist in TradFi and tech.

With a decade of exposure to blockchain ecosystems, starting with Bitcoin ATMs and in-person payments, D Ø W N L O R E has an understanding of the UX and security pain points that still persist. Frustrated by the industry's lack of effective answers to crypto scams, he started Protspec to make blockchain ecosystems safer and less intimidating for cryptonatives.

Protspec currently maintains the anti-phishing browser extension, Bulwark, in an effort to provide cryptonatives with more awareness of possible crypto phishing scams they will likely confront as they use Web3.

D Ø W N L O R E also conducts research on “infostealer” malware scams that specifically target crypto users and maintains a growing thread on X of such scams for public awareness.

Protspec is also aiming to developer a security awareness training program for both cryptonatives and organizations that operate in the Web3 space.
