The Psychedelic Puppet Show Non-Profit is a decentralized community creating educational, fun, and creative content around psychedelic science, therapy, history, and spirituality. Last spring, we launched the project with a conversation between Paul Stamets and Rick Doblin on the possibilities of psychedelics in helping us create a happier, healthier, more actualized global community. It has received over 120,000 views on YouTube and hundreds of thousands of social media interactions. See the intro clip here: https://youtu.be/w8P45-Nv2SI.
The show was conceived at the Canadian Psychedelic Summit last summer as a web3 platform and community where creatives are matched with storytellers, working together to share their psychedelic knowledge and experiences with a global audience. With this Gitcoin round, we aim to raise funds to create the 3 episode variety show alpha season for YouTube. Paul Stamets will host each episode, and we will pull from the existing Psychedelic Puppet Show community to be our creators. The season will be led by Dr. Brad Necyk (www.bradnecyk.com), co-founder of the non-profit and director of the Psychedelic Puppet Show's first episode. With this alpha season, we hope to lay the foundation and build our community for it to be a truly decentralized platform for anyone with a vision to share their stories.
The creation of our DAO is an artwork and a form of governance for the community that allows you to vote on which projects receive seed funding. Once an episode is complete, a creator-focused revenue-sharing model will support more seed funding through a treasury and reward creators for their work. This alpha season will serve to create the content for our first NFT collection. NFT holders will be given access to behind-the-scenes show events and guests and will serve as the voting body for which episodes are funded and created.
Support during this Gitcoin round will better position us to launch our featured round in November, where we plan to invite projects to become the first official season of the Psychedelic Puppet Show.
