Inaugurating a web3 platform to facilitate public goods funding, increase awareness, and support impactful projects across Africa through education, grant rounds, and a network of sponsors.

PGA is pioneering a new era of Public Goods and Pubic Goods funding in Africa. We are creating a mechanism where funding, collaboration, and impact converge to enable web3 to meet one of its noblest potential - empowering Africa!

Why this Project?

In the current landscape, a crucial impediment to harnessing the power of Web3 for creating positive change in Africa is the lack of adequate funding. Traditional funding sources have fallen short of meeting the demands, and the potential of public good funding within the crypto space has not been fully harnessed on the African continent. We aim to change this.

Project Impact

Public Good Education and Community Awareness

One of the primary hurdles to the proliferation of public goods and their funding in Africa is the absence of educational initiatives and coordinated efforts. Public Good Africa is tackling this challenge head-on by spearheading educational and awareness campaigns. Our aim is to elevate the collective awareness of Africans about the transformative potential of public goods and public goods funding in forging a better world. We seek to instigate collective action in Africa through the following means:

Participation in Grants Rounds as Donors: Encouraging individuals, organizations, and institutions to actively contribute to public good projects. Participation in Grants Rounds as Projects: Empowering African innovators and impact creators to bring their ideas to fruition through grants. Establishing an Ecosystem of Impact Sponsors: Nurturing a network of sponsors and supporters committed to fostering public goods. Engaging in Public Goods Discourse and Governance: Encouraging thoughtful discussions and proactive involvement in the governance of public goods. Advocating for Public Goods: Championing the cause of public goods and their vital role in transforming societies.

Public Goods Grant for Impact in Africa

Our central objective is to leverage public goods funding as a catalyst for positive change throughout the African continent. We envision a world where sustainable funding initiates a ripple effect, creating a more prosperous and equitable society across Africa. To realize this vision, we are committed to organizing periodic Quadratic Funding Grant rounds, providing support and resources to builders, innovators, change-makers, and those who drive positive change in Africa. As a first step towards realizing this vision, we are running an independent round during GG19 to fund impact across Africa.

Public Goods Platform - Discovering Impact Across Africa

In tandem with our educational and funding efforts, we are developing a cutting-edge platform that aggregates and showcases impact projects across the African continent. The primary goal of this platform is to democratize access to impactful initiatives. Through the platform, anyone can effortlessly discover and fund initiatives that resonate with their values and aspirations. Beyond this, the platform will serve as a vital coordination layer, bridging African impact projects with diverse public good funding opportunities worldwide.
