Raised $12,000 for Reproductive Health Report, 10K impressions, onboarded 10 researchers to DeSci; seeking funds for second volume focused on PCOS, Endometriosis awareness and research.

Thank you again to all our supporters in GR15 🀍

We delivered:

  • 1 Public good
  • 24 Pages on the state of Reproductive Biology
  • 1 Seminar
  • 4 Panels
  • 10k impressions
  • 10 reproductive biology researchers onboarded to DeSci

We raised over $12,000 for a landmark Reproductive Health Report. The report was downloaded thousands of times, received fantastic feedback from the science and women’s health community, helped onboard women into DeSci and web3, and has raised awareness of Decentralised Science in the Reproductive Health space and beyond.

All proceeds were used to pay contributors, artwork, and design, except for Dr. Polina Lishko, who kindly contributed her opinion piece. The AthenaDAO team volunteered their time.

All of this served as opportunities to engage researchers and a broader audience that is not familiar with web3 or Decentralized Science and show them the potential positive impact of this ecosystem.

For this round, we would like to continue this work for The Reproductive Report - Volume2

Help us:

  • Onboard scientists into DeSci by spreading awareness and contributing to the conversation
  • Onboard women into DeSci and Web3
  • Give a platform to predominantly female researchers
  • Build our collective knowledge of PCOS and Endometriosis, heavily under-researched areas

What are Endometriosis and PCOS?

Endometriosis is a prevalent but often misunderstood health condition affecting millions of women globally. In layman's terms, it occurs when tissue resembling the lining of the uterus, called endometrium, grows outside the uterus. This out-of-place tissue can lead to intense pain, inflammation, and fertility challenges.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, commonly known as PCOS, is a hormonal disorder affecting many women worldwide. It is one of the most common endocrine disorders among women of reproductive age, with an estimated 1 in 10 women affected. Despite its prevalence, PCOS is often underdiagnosed and misunderstood, leading to confusion and frustration for those who suffer from it. These conditions can affect women from a very early age and impact their fertility.

The funding will support:

  • Free access to all
  • Writers & Editors
  • Public speaker series to engage scientists and researchers with the community
  • Media and online initiatives
  • Academic conferences fees

What is AthenaDAO?

AthenaDAO is a decentralized community of researchers, funders, and advocates working to advance women’s health research, education, and funding.

Source, fund, and incubate academic and industry R&D: A collaborative global network of experts to source, fund, incubate, and support spinouts of IP assets & companies. Researchers get access to an unparalleled network: of legal, strategic, scientific, and market mentorship and support.

Novel funding mechanisms: On-chain transparent technology and incentives to fund early-stage research & biotech startups via a token held by the community. Capital allocation is done collaboratively.

Global female-led movement: Focused on education and access to resources - we want to be a community hub for women. Creating opportunities to interact with the scientific community, influence what research is addressed, and generate value from their contribution. Focused on incentives that benefit women.

AthenaDAO is a female-led collective. Our members and contributors represent women of color, immigrants, and women in science.
