Introducing RightfulShare
Are you serious about ensuring the Web3 space is accessible, inclusive and diverse? Look no further! RightfulShare is a leading use case deploying a crypto basic income and tokenomics for real impact in the real world.
Project description
RightfulShare, is a first-of-a-kind project that aims to create a more accessible and fair economy, starting with a small rural community in South Africa, the most unequal country in the world. Our mission is to distribute a digital basic income while simultaneously building a micro-economy using tokenomics to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
Our approach is unique in that we're not just talking about change - we're actually creating a working model of a fair economy that everyone can see in action. By doing so, we hope to change individual lives, be part of the web3 on boarding efforts and serve as an example of how new technologies can be used to create positive social impact.
In the previous Gitcoin round we raised enough money to launch our project https://bitcoinke.io/2023/02/rightfulshare-unveils-ubi-scheme-using-digital-currencies/. We now aim to raise a further $960.
Your donation will help us build and scale the project. Your contribution big or small will go directly into the hands of a micro-entrepreneur in the small town of Groblershoop in South Africa. You can even meet them in person in our metaverse!
How the project works
RightfulShare utilizes GoodDollars, a unique digital currency to initiate our project on an open platform where the entire Groblershoop community of approximately 16 000 people can partake through tokenomics. Community members are encouraged to open digital wallets and claim a daily digital UBI from GoodDollar which can be used as a medium of exchange in a context where there is insufficient national currency. Participants are exposed to the digital world including various dApps offering a wide array financial services and potential income generating opportunities.
RightfulShare is also established in the Metaverse, with Groblershoop being accessible through the Realm platform. Here everyone in the community is welcome to begin learning, playing, and earning. Training and mentoring are open to all and active builders are encouraged by paying an additional basic income in G$ aligned to the upper-bound poverty-line of South Africa. Beneficiaries can exchange this money for national currency or keep the token and help build the complimentary economy.
By participating in our Gitcoin grant, you will support South African entrepreneurs like Kitso and Chantelle pursue their dreams, grow their businesses, and improve their lives. Your contribution will help fund a crypto UBI for one year of Chantelle’s second-hand clothing business, or help Kitso boost her perfume sales in Sternham, the township and home to previously disadvantaged groups in South Africa identified by the project. You will also be playing an integral role in onboarding new users to the web3 space.
In summary
RightfulShare is not just about distributing a digital basic income, but also about advocating for accessibility, inclusion and diversity, in the web3 space, while also pushing for legislative change that benefits previously disadvantaged groups.
Through its program, RightfulShare is creating a pathway for underserved communities to participate in the digital economy, ultimately leading to greater economic security and social justice.
