A collective of 40 members promoting Solarpunk projects through Public Good Funding, deploying The Solarpunk Stack for a sustainable future, seeking funds for Impact tracking and infrastructure challenges.

The Solarpunk Guild is a collective (currently 40 members) that supports Solarpunk inspired projects to unlock the potential of Public Good Funding, decentralization and collaboration. The Guild is building The Solarpunk Stack, a combination of solutions, initiatives, ideas and memes that help to build a society with a harmonious balance between Nature, Humanity and Technology.

SolarPunk Stack

WHAT WE HAVE BUILT SO FAR

Our roadmap

2022: Founders circle and project initiation 2023: Formalization of the Guild with 60 members, initial governance and first community activities 2024: DAOfication and activation of activities on the ground (solarpunk seasons) 2025: Guild events, expansion of the IRL activities, activation of Guild’s fundraising pool through stacking and external grants

Our milestones

October 2022 foundation January 2023 launch of Gitcoin Marathon with pledge mechanism April 2023 launch of Gitcoin Community Radio December 2023 Governance formalization April 2024 launch of the Solarpunk Stack

Social Credibility

Since its foundation the Guild has attracted several founders working for Public goods and runned many initiatives aimed to support Public Good knowledge and projects. During the last 3 Gitcoin rounds, the Guild has run Gitcoin Community Radio with hundreds of hours of Twitter spaces hosted by the members of the Guild.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FUNDING FOR

After defining the Solarpunk Stack Concept we are now ready to activate Impact tracking by experimenting with novel use cases with hypercerts.

We plan to kickoff the Solarpunk Seasons (quarterly challenges for the Guild members to build Solarpunk Infrastructure and activities on the ground), gamifying the use of Hypercerts in the following way: Impact Assessment Using Hypercerts and the SolarPunk Stack

  • At the launch of the Season the guild member will mint one hypercert for each metric (for example number of education workshops hosted, total attendees of the workshops, number of KW solar built, number of water purification systems installed, and so on).

  • At the end of the season, according to the evaluation results of field activities, the Guild Council will mint end-of-the-season hypercerts and assign prizes and rewards according to the obtained results ranked in the hyperboard.

  • The first hypercerts, minted by guild members, will work as a Public Pledge for Impact Activities, the final hypercerts, minted by the Guild Council will give credibility to the impact generated. We also plan to test different ways to reward collaboration over competition like assigning a higher ranking on the hyperboard for projects where guild members collaborate

Other Hypercert use cases we are exploring within the Guild:

  • Issuance of Hypercerts as a certificate for undergoing a particular training session.
  • Issuance of Hypercerts as a certificate for exemplary performance or high engagement within the guild
  • Exploring integration of Hypercerts with task management tools (like Dework, Atlantis Citizen app).
