Treegens have funded and planted over 1 million mangrove trees since GR17! We are growing a movement of regenerators around the world through the most rewarding and transparent tree planting. Jimi Cohen personally set a new World Record for tree planting and the Treegen movement will break the record for most trees planted by any number of people in a 24 hour period, which is 350 million trees, set by Ethiopia.

Misaligned Incentives Our economy currently values the degeneration of nature more than it values the regeneration of nature. Until it flips the other way, nature will continue to be degraded.

Impact Transparency The impact sector faces criticism for not providing enough transparency. Donor updates are often reused, leading to lack of trust and reduced contributions overall.

🌳 HOW WE WILL SOLVE IT 🌳

Tokenized Trees The $TREES token with Proof of Plant - only issued to those who prove that they have proven they have planted mangrove trees by filming the land before & after for our AI tree counter to assess. Treegen DAO members also validate the videos submitted, GPS coordinates & the Treegen planters to avoid double counting. These tokens are Eco Credits, which follow a set of biodiversity methodologies that not only prove that trees have successfully been planted but are also growing over the course of 3 years.

Non-Fungible Updates (NFU) Every single tree planted by Treegens or funded for our For Trees Club partners to plant is counted with AI, with more than 97.5% accuracy. Videos with this AI tree counter overlaid are then brought on-chain as Non-Fungible Updates. Livepeer helps us scale this process.

Dynamic Semi-Soulbound Tokens (DSST) Treegen NFTs dynamically display your impact metrics. The mind orbs & heart orbs get brighter according to how many trees you either fund or plant respectively, both verified with AI. While the underlying artwork is transferable, these overlaid orbs are non-transferable and will display on whichever Treegen NFT is connected to our DApp for your profile. This is because we are gamifying regeneration.

Carbon Forwards - Rewarding Exponential Growth We will be unlocking the full potential of carbon forwards as a catalyst for exponential regeneration while rewarding Treegens.

Carbon forwards are where impact investors buy the future value of carbon credits in the short term. Even though these forwards are sold at a reduced rate, they still equate to approximately 9X more than what it costs to plant the mangrove trees. This is after dedicating 50% for sustainability & conservation efforts and 10% towards rewarding Treegen holders. 1M mangrove trees is only 6 carbon forward deals away from funding over 500B mangrove trees under this model.
