Trusted Seed is a global network of value-driven individuals committed to creating regenerative economies for public goods through token engineering and DAO governance. We’ve been working together to incubate and accelerate public good projects that align with our mission and create spaces where we can foster deeper connections and facilitate knowledge sharing. Our recent milestones include launching the Token Engineering Commons (TEC) and hosting learning and networking events such as Trusted Seed Picnics and Unconferences.

With Gitcoin Beta Round funding, we plan to host a second Unconference, organize more picnics, lead a learning trip to Catalonia, improve our curation process, and strengthen the value of the $TRUST token (a non-transferrable reputation token) within the web3 ecosystem.

Through a rigorous membership application process, Trusted Seed has curated a list of value-driven individuals who have received a non-transferable $TRUST token to signify their reputation and commitment to the community.

One of Trusted Seed's key milestones is the launch of the Token Engineering Commons (TEC), a global project that aims to establish an open-source community of token engineers and researchers. Trusted Seed members played a crucial role in the early governance and fundraising of TEC, contributing to its vision, roadmap, and development. This successful collaboration underscores the value of a curated network of value-driven actors committed to advancing decentralized technologies and governance models.

Trusted Seed has also been hosting several spaces for our members to build connections and partnerships in the web3 ecosystem, learn new tools and skills, and become effective leaders. The following events are some of the highlights of Trusted Seed last year: Trusted Seed Picnics: The picnics were held as side events at Ethereum conferences in Paris and Bogota, which brought together members of the web3 community to meet in person and showcase their projects. Trusted Seed Unconference: Our first Unconference was amonth-long series of online sessions that explored various topics related to building a Protopian world. The Unconference provided a valuable opportunity for our members and DAO stewards to share insights, discuss challenges, and collaborate on solutions. To ensure that the knowledge gained from the Unconference is widely accessible, we compiled a comprehensive report on the insights and lessons learned.

From Donation to Action: Our Plans for Gitcoin Grant Funding

With the support of Gitcoin Beta Round funding, we will be able to host our upcoming events and further improve our curation process. Our goal is to build a more effective network of individuals and organizations who are passionate about driving positive change through decentralized technologies. To achieve this, we have planned the following initiatives:

• Second Unconference: Host another online event for community members and DAO stewards to share ideas on building regenerative economies and public goods, with guest speakers and diverse perspectives.

• Trusted Seed Picnics: Organize more gatherings at Ethereum conferences and public spaces to connect members, showcase projects, and foster collaboration.

• Catalan Social Expedition: Lead a learning trip to Catalonia, Spain around EthBarcelona dates to visit and learn from sustainable and community-driven projects and organizations, with Trusted Seed members and local stakeholders.

• Curation process improvement: Improve our curation process to ensure that new members are value-driven and effective actors or participants in incubating future public good projects.

• Developing the reputation layer: Increase the weight of $TRUST in DAO governance, incentivize members to participate in Trusted Seed initiatives, and establish $TRUST as a reputable and valuable token within the web3 ecosystem.
