A group of Web3 enthusiasts in Singapore meets every 2-3 weeks to read and discuss whitepapers, fostering in-depth, non-promotional debates on Web3 mechanics.
Context: Singapore is a vibrant Web3 hub with talented people. However, few spaces exist to delve into the technical, social, and utility of Web3 projects. While builder meetups exist, they often do not foster in-depth discussions or end up as marketing events.
Collective: The Whitepaper Reading Club is a group of veterans and enthusiasts, engineers and thinkers, united by the shared curiosity to understand the mechanics powering the Web3 revolution.
Values:
- Proof of “Work”: We read whitepapers and discuss them IRL
- Focus: Our discussions revolve around the whitepapers
- No promotion: We do not promote projects/events
- Permissionless: Everyone can participate
- Healthy debate: We challenge assumptions and dogma
- Open culture: We are open to ideas and ask the basic questions
Format:
- Paper Selection: Anyone can nominate papers, and we vote on two WhitePapers to discuss per session
- When: We meet in person every 2-3 weeks
- Meetings: We spend 10 mins reading the papers at the start and then hold a roundtable-style discussion
