The Crypto Commons Association has been active in the blockchain4good space since 2021, and we are now applying to this funding round to support our two main lines of activities, our events and the Commons Economy Roadmap research project launched in January 2024.
--Events:
Our events in the Commons Hub have been important moments of discussion for the web3 and blockchain4good space, especially for what regards token engineering and its socio-technical complexities, framed from the point of view of different subsections of the crypto commons as ReFi, CoFi and Post-Web.
This year we are organising -A CoFi & Post-Web event in Berlin, in March 2024 at the Offline space. (already occurred) -A ReFi Unconference in Barcelona, from 20 to 25 of April 2024, at Akasha Hub -The second annual CoFi Gathering in July 2024, in Banja Luka. -The fourth edition of our Crypto Commons Gathering, location and date tbd!
All info about events can be found in our website and twitter account!
--The Commons Economy Roadmap research project
The Commons Economy Roadmap (CER) is a knowledge base and promotion protocol to highlight and empower what we consider to be among the most relevant 20 projects in the current economic juncture: companies and ecosystems that are building open infrastructures to regenerate society, to support the struggle of citizens, farmers, activists, scientists, tech experts and entrepreneurs on the ground at the dawn of global collapse.
It's not crypto-exclusive, but the majority of projects of Iteration 1 (Jan-Jul 2024) are blockchain-based infratstructures which are embodying the best of what Token Engineering has to offer! Proving innovative tokenomics and distributed protocols can generate useful services and sustainable business models.
The idea is to generate a simple but powerful feedback loop :
More attention to the projects -> more resources for the projects themselves -> more resources for the adaptive evolution of the Roadmap -> more attention to more projects (details on the website commonseconomy.org)
In the process, we want to gather as many feedback and contributors as possible, as the bigger plan is to transform the Commons Economy Roadmap into a decentralized research&development protocol! Using Token Engineering when it can be useful to address complex coordination and governance challenges.
Curating the selections criteria, the admission of new projects to the Roadmap and the production of practical knowledge about them as a network of expert organizations and individuals, so that this artifact can become a collective infrastructure for the systematic growth and betterment of the Commons-Centric economy.
