Who Are We?

Blockchain Center is a global research lab with a mission to promote blockchain technology. It builds a global ecosystem for knowledge sharing and innovation, fostering worldwide awareness and research for new blockchain solutions.

More About Blockchain Center

Our Mission

Our mission is to foster a community of curious students and visionary professors and shape the future of Blockchain technology. Harnessing the power of a diverse community, we aim to speed up the integration of blockchain and decentralized technologies in our lives, moving from enthusiast-driven ideas to real-world and problem-driven applications. We aspire to unlock a decentralized and equitable global society.

The Blockchain Center’s community can be structured into four main groups:

  • Educators
  • Students
  • Professionals
  • Enthusiasts

Problem

To achieve widespread blockchain adoption, it is essential to cultivate a qualified human capital capable of bringing regulatory clarity and implementing effective technological solutions within this pioneering technology. The world of blockchain education is currently narrow and primarily limited to top universities in developed countries, creating a gap between industry, academia, and regulators. Yet, at our core, we believe that education, the driver of progress and freedom, should be within everyone's grasp.

Our Strategy

Education, R&D

Equip the global community with educational resources aligned with industry expertise and academic research.

Content Creation: While we aren't developing an OSS, we are devoted to providing standardized blockchain education curricula in engineering and compliance on a global scale. Training university professors ensures blockchain education is seen and embraced as a universal good. This is a mission borne not of profit but of purpose.

Current Program: Global University Outreach Program

An academic initiative that aims to embed blockchain engineering and compliance into academic curricula across the globe by offering training programs for university educators free of charge. The program covers 234 universities across 53 countries that were selected according to a specially developed methodology that considers the ICT Index and Index of Academic Freedom.

What We Have Done So Far

The Blockchain Center was founded one year ago, and so far we have achieved the following results:

  • The University Outreach Program in Kazakhstan (The Pilot Project)
    • 22 University-Participants
    • 321 Professors educated
    • 16 Universities that have integrated the course materials into their existing academic curricula

More About The Pilot Program

  • The Largest Multi-Venue Hackathon in Central Asia
    • As a part of the training program, we have launched a multi-venue hackathon in Web3, spanning over 12 across 9 regions of Kazakhstan. Outreaching the hard-to-access regions and providing people with the opportunity to try their skills and knowledge tackling the complex of blockchain technology, we discovered young talents from the whole country. We gathered 1500+ participants, who fought for a prize fund of $10,000. We continue to pursue the mission to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity and aim to cover more than 7 countries of Central Eurasia and gather more than 10,000 participants in the Spring of 2024.
