For Gitcoin Round 20 (Climate Solutions), we are raising funds to support further develop GoodCollective, a platform that supports climate impact initiatives through enabling direct digital payments to individuals who perform verified climate stewardship.

Environmental stewardship of local communities in key conservation areas will create a significant impact in preventing the depletion of natural resources. GoodDollar has partnered with Appropriate Design, dOrg and the Climate Collective to build GoodCollective, a dapp that support sustainable environmental practices at the local level, with a focus on direct payments to the individuals doing the work. The GoodCollective platform provides the climate tooling that enable community climate leaders to administer direct payments to those verifiably safeguarding and preserving their local habitat. The mission of GoodCollective deeply aligns with GoodDollar’s mission to deliver digital money to those who need it most and Climate Collective’s objective to utilize trusted, sustainable digital infrastructure to unlock verifiable climate action at scale.

// Why Support GoodCollective?

GoodCollective is currently live and being used to support two first of its kind pilots which link automated digital payments to verified stewardship efforts. Funds raised in Gitcoin 20 will used to fund further dapp development of GoodCollective to enable any community climate organization to permissionlessly create, customize and manage its own GoodCollective. This is critical tooling infrastructure to aid innovation in the Web3 and climate finance space. All software will be open source and free for use.
