Empower Nigerians to improve the environment and community through Web3 education, with plans for nationwide events, toolkits, and partnerships for eco-friendly projects and Web3 innovation.

The Green Pill Nigeria project is here to empower and coordinate as many individuals in the country to participate in improving the environment and community. As Web3 grows in the West African region, we aim to equip individuals with the tools and education to find new Web3 use cases that can uplift the standard in the region.

GreenPill #Nigeria Local Chapter: "Growing our future together"

The mission of the Green Pill Nigerian Community is to empower and coordinate as many individuals in the country to participate in improving the environment. This initiative will help develop chapters in Lagos, Anambaram, Akwa Bum State, Enugu and Imo State. These subchapters will be coordinating with one another to host events and meetups around the country and a different city each time. At the moment along with various projects in the region we are already introducing the Green Pill philosophy to individuals in the region. We have events and meetups set up for the 3rd and 4th quarter 2023 that will help educate individuals in the region.

The proposal will help create the Nigerian Core Team and will develop an onboarding program, educational tools, operating activities, and required tooling for new members of the community. These tools will be used to create more traction that will lead to our planned events:

  • Operational toolkit: 1)Notion Team plan. 2)Domain name for website. 3)Web3 educational material.

  • Community activity support: 1)Incentives for contributors(in form of perks such as NFTs etc). 2)Printing materials for meetups, library materials for workshops. 3)GP Naija swag for giveaway/brand awareness.

  • Bounties support: 1)Set up a bounty program (QF) to encourage web3 solutions to daily issues. 2)Develop green or cause related projects that help our community/region. 3)Onboard new members and leaders to the space.

  • Partnership program: 1)Develop a recruiting and educational program with regional Universities to onboard technical and non-technical students to the web3 space. 2)Develop regional strategic partnership for cause awareness.

All the materials developed by the Nigerian chapter will be open-sourced to use as needed. This grant will allow us to grow the community in Nigeria, helping us to onboard non-web3 users into the Green Pill philosophy. We can achieve this by hosting community meetups, workshops, and educational programs to demonstrate the real-world use cases of Web3 tools and the Green Pill philosophy. Nigeria is in the top 3 countries in Africa to adopt web3 as it grows daily. We would like to use the Green Pill philosophy to influence a more enlightened and community driven adoption.
