Metapro Academy is the first web3 e-learning community in Spanish designed to onboard non-technical profiles of all ages.

DESCRIPTION Metapro Academy provides training and community onboarding for professionals of all ages to transition into a web3 career. The academy focuses on supporting each student in developing their own “digital footprint” or CV in web3 regardless of their background.

Metapro community members are a perfect match for non-technical roles that are often overlooked in other training programs, such as design, operations, community management, marketing, accounting, HR or legal. Research shows that employment offers for developers constitute only 37% of all job offers in web3, with the remaining 63% targeting non-developer roles.

Metapro wants to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical skills to help web3 teams acquire the best talent regardless of their background, age and education. The education and activities are held in Spanish. Students can be found in countries across Europe (Spain) and Latam.

The program focuses on a web3 master track with the following modules:

• Blockchain foundations
• Wallets: custody of digital assets
• Pillars of web3 technology
• Decentralized Infrastructure: storage, compute, oracles
• Decentralized identity: wallets, addressability (domains)
• NFTs: technology, utility & use cases, creator track
• DeFi: debt markets (lending protocols) vs liquidity markets (AMM/DEXes), yield aggregators. DeFi tools and wallet management. Use cases for NFTs in DeFi.
• DAOs: governance protocols, use cases
• Web3 Social track: Lens Protocol, POAP, Gitcoin Passport, ENS, SSID
• Metaverse and gaming
• Network layers (Advanced): L1s, L2s/rollups (optimistic, zero-knowledge), App chains
• Future tech and career paths

WHAT WE DO

• Onboard students of all ages to web3 by providing web3 literacy to mid-career professionals from all backgrounds
• Foster community by hosting live community calls every week with web3 founders and key actors in the space
• Make introductions for our community members to projects and other communities
• Foster interactions by having earlier community members do the onboarding of new members
• Organise community events such as practical demos by the most innovative web3 protocols: such as Lens Protocol (and the dApps), POAP, Welook, Kleros, MakerDAO, ENS DAO, Gnosis DAO
• Participate in the most important events of the Ethereum ecosystem: in the past 6 months we have actively attended DEVCON Bogota 2022 and ETH Denver 2023, where we hosted a panel.
• Collaborate with other Ethereum communities in different activities (e.g. ETH Kipu, Ethereum Argentina)

OUR IMPACT

• Onboarded 500 students since July 2022
• Hosted over 65hr of live demo content and interviews with the participation of the community
• 50% of students have considered changing their job to web3
• 70% of our entrepreneurial students have decided to start a project in Web3
• We are the lead organiser for ETHMadrid 2023, scheduled for the month of November. ETHMadrid is projected to host over 2,000 general public and is the first Ethereum Community Event in Madrid since 2019

OUR GOALS Our number one goal is to provide training and community onboarding for professionals of all ages to transition into a web3 career.

In order to achieve this we actively participate in events, either by organizing workshops, or by creating spaces for exchange between members of the local community.

Our most ambitious plan to date is to be the lead organiser of the most important event of the Ethereum Community in Madrid since 2019.

Since our founding we have seen a great number of women from all walks of life, ages 26 to 72, join our student base. We care deeply about supporting these women to reach their potential in their new web3 careers.

OUR FUTURE PLANS Provide 100 scholarships to women so that they can access the academy and start their journey in web3.

Develop agreements with companies and organizations so that graduates can access job opportunities within the industry.

Currently our team, together with the Ethereum Community of Madrid and the Ethereum Foundation, will be leading the organization of ETHMadrid, which promises to be the biggest event since 2019 in the city.

Organize hackathons and spaces for developers, together with local sponsors in order to make local talent visible in our community in Spain and other countries in Latam.
