🌊 Scaling-Up Community-Driven Adaptive Capacity and Resilience in Mida Creek, Kenya 🌴
📌 Project Summary
This project aims to enhance the adaptive capacity and resilience of peasants and artisanal fishing communities around Mida Creek, a vital biodiversity hotspot in Kilifi County, Kenya. Through capacity building, sustainable livelihood initiatives, and climate adaptation strategies, we seek to empower residents with skills in sustainable practices and alternative income sources.
Mida Creek is renowned for its rich ecosystems, including mangrove forests, seagrasses, and diverse marine life. However, these ecosystems and the communities that depend on them face severe threats from climate change, overexploitation of resources, and socio-economic vulnerabilities.
