Hello, I'm Stef, a Data Scientist collaborating with Gitcoin through the OpenData Community. For the past 3 months, I've been working on projects to improve Gitcoin's ability to analyze funding applications more efficiently.
It all started with Mirall0x, an open-source project analyzer used to assess project eligibility during #GG18. The motivation behind this project was to save time and energy by identifying potential issues early in the application process, thus addressing the sybil problem in later rounds. Mirall0x is a work in progress, with ongoing development and a roadmap.
Another project, the Commons Database, was initiated during the Funding the Commons Berlin Residency. It aims to solve the problem of scattered project information across various funding platforms. By integrating data from Gitcoin, Optimism, Octant, and other sources, it creates a unified database for projects. This database can be used for automating eligibility checks, analyzing project behavior, verifying previous funding, and more.
I've been leading both projects in my spare time, occasionally receiving contributions. The funds I receive will be allocated as follows:
- 60% to compensate for the time I've dedicated to these projects retroactively.
- 40% for the projects themselves:
- 20% for Mirall0x, covering bounties, visual identity, homepage, and API costs.
- 20% for the Commons DB, including API costs and bounties.
Both projects were developed within the OpenData Community Sandbox, where 7% of project funding goes back to support the community.
If you have any questions or would like to collaborate, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can find discussion channels for both projects on the OpenData Community Discord
