Introduction

Greetings! thinkDecade here 😉, a fervent advocate for Public Good and the Gitcoin community, I am excited to present this proposal, focusing on both retroactive and prospective work, to further Gitcoin’s mission and contribute to its thriving community.

Retroactive Work:

Education and awareness on X:

I used my personal x account and that of Public Good Africa to engage in awareness and educational campaigns aimed at helping and guiding people especially Africans to participate in GG18.

Solarpunk x Spaces Assistance:

I had the privilege of contributing to the Solarpunk x spaces, where I assisted in fostering a collaborative and enlightening environment. My involvement in these spaces facilitated meaningful discussions and exchanges of ideas, promoting a sense of community and shared vision among participants, especially in bringing African Grantees to the space to share what they are building and working on.

Creating a Guide on Donating using Mobile:

Recognizing the need for clear and accessible guidance, I developed and shared a YouTube video tutorial on how to donate on Gitcoin using mobile devices. This resource aimed to simplify the donation process and encourage more community members to contribute to projects they believe in, thereby strengthening the support for valuable initiatives within the ecosystem. Community Workshops

I conducted workshops in and with many web3 communities focused on guiding community members in navigating the Gitcoin ecosystem. These workshops were designed to streamline the onboarding experience, ensuring that members could seamlessly participate in the diverse and vibrant activities within the Gitcoin community. I hosted various discussions in communities such as Bankless Africa, Public Good Africa, ETHAccra, Defi Africa and others to help educate community members on the importance of Gitcoin and how they can get involved such as setting up Gitcoin Passport and donating.

Proposed Work:

I am embarking on a transformative journey to ignite a new era of Public Good in Africa through the inception of Public Good Africa. This initiative is a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change, aiming to leverage the revolutionary power of crypto to address the pressing challenges and unlock the untapped potentials of the African continent.

Public Good Africa(PGA)

PGA aims to create a platform and coordination mechanism in Africa to connect impact projects to Public Good funding opportunities while driving awareness, engagement, and involvement in public good discourse, governance, and advocacy.

Impact on Gitcoin:

By aligning with various Public Good and funding stakeholders globally, including Gitcoin, this initiative will foster prolific experimentation in coordination within and outside Africa, enhancing the global reach and impact of the Gitcoin ecosystem.

Impact Africa Connect:

This platform is designed to bridge African projects with public good funding opportunities, offering guidance and support to help them secure grants and partnerships that can amplify their impact and reach.

Impact on Gitcoin:

Impact Africa Connect will serve as a conduit for African projects to access and contribute to the Gitcoin ecosystem, enriching the diversity and inclusivity of the community and facilitating the realization of shared goals and visions.

Impact Africa Fund:

This fund is a revolutionary approach to democratizing and decentralizing funding, creating a seamless connection between donors and promising African projects targeting positive social changes.

Impact on Gitcoin:

By hosting funding rounds and presenting a unique space for donors to discover and support projects, Impact Africa Fund will enhance the fluidity and accessibility of the Gitcoin grants platform, driving more innovation and collaboration within the ecosystem.

Intended Impact:

🎯 Democratize access to funding and drive innovation and positive change in Africa. 🎯 Enhance global coordination and collaboration in the crypto and public good space. 🎯 Amplify the impact and reach of the Gitcoin ecosystem by integrating diverse and impactful projects from Africa.

Metrics

⏭️ Number of African projects connected with public good funding opportunities. ⏭️ Amount of funds raised and allocated to promising African projects. ⏭️ Level of engagement and collaboration between Public Good Africa and the global public good community, including Gitcoin.

Two major projects am working on currently are Bankless Africa and Public Good Africa.
