The OpenData Community combats web3 Sybil attacks and centralization by supporting projects, nurturing data scientists, providing datasets, and developing tools like SybilSlayer. It operates as a non-profit DAO.

The OpenData Community was founded in late 2022. Our mission is to help protect web3 from Sybil attacks and centralization at the data layer.

We help to protect rounds like Gitcoin Grants Rounds - and we nurture data scientists and build algorithms and projects as well.

So far we have helped support projects as diverse as TrustaLabs (winner of our first hackathon) and SybilSlayer, a Python package for Sybil analysis. Our approach is to build in public, with hackathons and open source projects that we call Sandbox projects.

We deliver: Data sets: we curate Sybil lists for example Data science: approaches to finding Sybils - including ad hoc analysis of rounds Data scientists: analysts and data scientists Dashboard and more: projects like SybilSlayer, GIS (deep learning for Sybil analysis), Miral0x and others.

Importantly, we are a non-commercial DAO with emerging on-chain governance via Hats. Commercial services are available from members however we subsist solely through our hackathons and Grants like this one. We use funds gathered from Grants Rounds to support work between hackathons in building Open Source projects and foundation anti-Sybil models.

Thank you for your support. By supporting us you support this round and our mission to protect web3 from Sybil and other attackers and the risks of centralization at the data layer.
