Hey Solarpunk!

Solarpunkverse is a Culture Hub celebrating and proliferating the Solarpunk movement. While addressing climate change needs a lot of ground up solutions to be implemented, we believe that building climate resiliency and a harmonious future post climate change needs massive mindset and behavioral shifts as well.

We aim to be a world-building nodal point to transform cultural frameworks, social mindsets and knowledge gaps around:

• Climate change and our ability to drive change
• How humans interact with planet Earth and all other organisms

How are we doing this?

We are creating cultural and educational points of access by:

• Compiling a Solarpunk historical timeline (https://twitter.com/solarpunkverse/status/1738188065129247106)

• Sharing ways in which anyone can help to build the Solarpunkverse

• Identifying and celebrating Solarpunks of TODAY and sharing their wins and trials, with the hope that they can serve as inspiration for the collective. We feel there is a strong need to bridge the gap between an optimistic, near future outcome- and individuals/ projects today that are resisting ruptured systems through how they think, what they build and how they GROW.

• Rewarding such individuals and projects

• An NFT collection of Solarpunk Characters, co created with Solarpunks of today. The Characters aim to represent them as they are and as they visualize themselves to be in a Solarpunk world.

When people buy and design a character with us, their contributions fund projects building the Solarpunk paradigm, in which $Earth was a POC. Going forward we will be listing more Solarpunk aligned projects for the treasury to fund.

Upcoming Initiatives:

• We are building a community sourced digital Solarpunk Culture Library, IE tracing the roots and presence of Solarpunk in literature, comics, films, art, architecture, games, music, fashion, myths, research, recipes, documentaries and so on.

Our intention with the Cultural Library is

1- To codify values and insights into stories and myths so that they can be communicated and understood by people across the world.

2- To facilitate the creation of localized as well as web3 community structures. Members would function as spores- spreading ideas, awareness and ways to contribute to small and large scale change. We are hoping this will lead to more on ground actions and contribution structures.

• We want to generate Solarpunk culture by creating educational content on climate action. We are currently developing the Core Characters that will feature in world-building content, comics and games.
• We hope to support Solarpunk writers, artists, architects, film makers and all other creators who will help make the movement accessible for the larger collective.
• Creating and supporting localized communities who are taking Solarpunk from a fiction born seed to an on ground forest. We would do this via funding, products, web3 events and festivals.

Megha Thumbunkel

A student of Anthropology, Cultural Studies, Art and Permaculture; excited about combining the power of myths, art and nature to inspire the Solarpunk community. A visual artist by profession who lives in the Himalayas, can also read your astrology chart and speak endlessly on archetypes.

Utkarsh Patel

Our resident Solarpunk maxi living and breathing $Earth. Fulfilling his ikigai by addressing anthropogenic climate change and building the Solarpunk paradigm. With a background in Env Sci, Economics and Mixed Media, he has finally found a home for his skillsets and passions in Refi. He is helping Solarpunkverse navigate the web3 landscape with all the experience he has gained in the last 3 years.
